Trader Joe’s is open

May 13th, 2009 No comments

Trader Joe’s in Virginia Beach is now officially open as of May 8th. The store has been pretty crowded the past few days, but it is getting better. Now those of us on the South-side no longer have to make the trek to Newport News to shop.

End of an era…

In this mornings delivery, we received a letter informing us that this would be our last delivery of milk from Yoder Dairy, and what makes it even worse is that the store is also closing. I grew up in Southern California, and we had Alta Dena Dairy, and not only did/do they deliver, the delivered raw milk, for those of you that don’t know about raw milk, it is the best straight from the cow cream on top and all that. Alta Dena Still delivers, but as I understand it Raw milk is no longer available.

Yoder you will be missed…

Doumar\'s BBQ at 19th and Monticello

Well I have lived here, going on 7 years, and I finally had a chance to visit Doumar’s.

Great Carolina BBG, and Ice Cream. the atmosphere is great, we ate inside this time instead of using the “Curb Service”.
