Less IS More

In these uncertain times, its more important than ever to practice the mind set that less IS more. All the things we throw away. The donations made to the Salvation Army. Not to mention the impulse purchases that are nothing more than our misplaced boredom. “WHY did I buy this?” Then we discard a lot of these things along with other possessions that we truly can live without. Only to go out and buy more stuff to fill that space! Its a crazy cycle.

Memorial Day 2011

Here we are upon another 3-day week-end “holiday.” Most people look forward to these so they can get out of town, maybe go camping with the family. Have a HUGE BBQ with their friends. What’s sad is that even in such a huge Military town, there are so many just meandering about now even realizing that this is a moment for pause. A moment to talk with our children about family/friends/fellow service members that we may know that have paid the ultimate price for our continued freedoms. Not even a single 3-year old should be left clueless about what this day means to our country and why we “celebrate” the fallen.
